Why Does Bangladesh Think Swizz Beatz Isn’t Relevant?

Why Does Bangladesh Think Swizz Beatz Isn’t Relevant?

We came across an article courtesy of website hiphopdx.

The article makes reference to a XXL article; where producer Bangladesh seems to take a jab at legendary super producer Swizz Beatz. According to Bangladesh, he refers to Swizz as not being relevant musically.

Instead, Bangladesh goes onto say, that Swizz is only relevant because he married Alicia Keys, who Bangladesh refers to as popping.

Here’s what Bangladesh had to say:

“I think there’s a difference between relevance and musical relevance,” he noted. “You married a lady that’s poppin’ [Alicia Keys], you know it’ll give you a lot of relevance, but you gotta make hits. Ain’t no hits. Are you relevant for the craft you’re doing or the life you live as far as the decisions you make?”

“The relevance is in being youthful,” he said. “Still being in-the-know.  I have a 15 year old son so they think we’re brothers and I put him on to stuff. You know, I’m 34 but people tell me I look 23.  He still look to me for information. Usually it’s the opposite; usually the parents are lame or too old to understand or whatever. Just the way I feel, I got so much more time.”

Our take on Bangladesh statement:

Now we’re not sure why Bangladesh feels this way? We’re sure that  just about everyone is more than familiar with Swizz Beatz incredible music catalog, and contributions he’s made musically.

And while Bangladesh has some hits, many of them weren’t major hits like Swizz. Swizz has an extensive catalog, and has been consistent since 1998 to the present.

It seems like something else is going on, with respect to Bangladesh.

We totally disagree with Bangladesh, Swizz is legendary, and will always remain great. His musical catalog, will forever get the party rocking for years to come!

Take a look at both Bangladesh & Swizz Beatz production catalog below, and you decide who’s relevant:
