We’re always stressing the fact that a lot of newer generations of hip hop, seem to forget those who were trailblazers in this game, and laid some of the foundation down; for others to follow.
This is largely due to the fact that, mainstream media often ignores those artist from the golden era of hip hop (late 1980′s- early 90′s).
In other genres of music, the pioneers are typically celebrated and remembered, in such a way that newer artist look up to them.
Hip hop culture is not that way, however we’re committed to making sure, we pay our respects to those who laid down the foundation for this thing called hip hop.
It’s so important to celebrate these legends, because without them, there would be no platform for any of us.
Now we were searching through legendary emcee Monie Love’s twitter feed, and came across a video titled The Alumni.
The video features, Special Ed, Dana Dane, Kwame, Monie Love, and Chubb Rock, all riding around in a Porsche truck; listening to each others music.
This is a hot video clip, and would make a great car commercial. Wonder what The Alumni will be? We’ll definitely keep you posted. Much respect to each of those artist in the video clip, thanks for being trailblazers!
